What to Expect On a Discovery Call

I know that booking a “discovery call” can sometimes feel like walking into a high-pressure sales pitch. You’re worried about being sold something you don’t need, or wasting 45 minutes just to find out we aren’t a budget fit.

I do things differently.

My discovery calls are focused, low-pressure, and designed to answer one question: Are we the right team to reach your goals?

Here is exactly how our 20-minute discovery call consultation works:

1. We Focus on Your Goals.

We start with one simple question: “What is the #1 thing you want to walk away with today?” This ensures we spend our time discussing your business bottlenecks — whether that’s inconsistent content, low engagement, or a lack of strategy — rather than me giving you a generic spiel.

2. I Listen First.

For the first half of the call, my job is simply to listen. I want to understand where your current content strategy is struggling and what success looks like for your brand. I don’t offer “band-aid” fixes on the fly; I look at the big picture.

3. We Assess the Fit

Once I understand your needs, I’ll be honest about whether I can help.

  • If it’s a match: I’ll walk you through the specific package or retainer that solves your problem.

  • If it’s not: I will happily refer you to a colleague or resource better suited for you.

4. No-Pressure Next Steps

You won’t be pressured to sign a contract on the call. If we’re a good fit, I’ll send you a one-pager summarizing our discussion and your options. You can review it on your own time and let me know when you’re ready to kick off.
